Fruit of The Spirit: Free Printable

You know all of that subway art floating around? Well, I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I made this printable one instead! I made it in several different colors in case anyone wanted to use it in their home. Feel free to save and print it!

sister's bday {my favorite holiday!}

My little sister turned the big 1-9 on the 14th! Ya, she's old.
So, in true Kacie style, I threw her quite the party! I mean, her birthday is, after all, my favorite holiday! And, I totally live for this kind of stuff! Truth be told, it's more for me than it is for her.

I sewed up some bday banners...

Sewed a country chic table cloth...

And made THREE, yes 3, birthday cakes! I just couldn't seem to decide on one style.

Bestie's Etsy

My amazing best friend opened an Etsy shop! Check it out here.
I can personally vouch for the quality and cuteness!

I think I want these pillowcases...

Or these burp cloths...

Or these...

How's a girl supposed to decide?!?!?! So cute!!

Hiatus

So maybe I gave up blogging for Lent...
Or maybe I chose to go on hiatus like one of my favorite shows, Cougar Town...
Or maybe I've just been in total-mind-paralysis...

Yup. It's definitely the third. We have been doing TONS and I have not felt inspired to write.
At. All.
Hopefully I'm back.

In the last few weeks we have...
-gone to Victoria

-had company twice

-gone to the Dallas Arboretum to see the beautiful tulips

-went to a friend's fabulous baseball party

-Ross went to Albuquerque for my first weekend alone with the baby (and we survived)

-we started going to story time at the library

-I helped throw a MOPS party

-I have done lots of crafting, like these ruffle towels for my sister

-cooked many new dishes

-frequently walked the park with friends

-survived C's first strep throat

-Carson started eating veggies

-planned my sister's birthday party and so much more!

This one makes me laugh. Every time I would open my mouth, he would do the same. I think it looks like he is on a baby roller coaster ride!

Car seat cover

It's incredible what you can accomplish when baby takes a good, long nap!

I used this tutorial to make this fun little car seat cover. It will be good to block wind, rain, cold and germs!

iced in = craft time

The one good thing about being iced in is having time to craft!
This past week, I made an apron for my brother's girlfriend's birthday. It took two tries.
I didn't like this one...

So, I made this one instead...

I also made a little cake for a family bday party. We always combine birthdays that are close together. This one was for Tracy, Jay and Taylor.
Or, if you're running short on space, Tray, Jay and Tay!

Because we're seeesters!

Have I mentioned before that my sister is my heart and soul?
Maybe just once or twice?

From Etsy

I'm sooooo making one of these for her for Valentine's Day! It'll probably cost like $1.00.
Thrifted frame + one print out = crafting success

Felt Flower Tutorial #1

I've been making tons of crafts lately for Christmas...many include little felt flowers. Here's my first of several tutorials on how to make them! I think that you will find the pictures to be more helpful than my written directions.

This one is like a poinsettia or something...I also made one using the same technique with rounded petals.

Cut out 5 petals.

Sew one stitch through the bottom of each one, stringing them together.
Be sure to sew each the same way.

Scrunch the petals together and pull string into a loop. Tie in a knot and trim string.

Spread out petals into flower shape.

Attach to something like a wreath, head band, barrette, packages, etc...

Got scraps?

Got scraps? Make this! Today I used up some fabric scraps and a foam ring to make this festive little Christmas wreath. (sorry for the pic...it's from my phone)

Not in the mood...

I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. Instead, I have been...

Taking care of a hubby with a never-ending migraine...

Having cramps and contractions that confuse me a lot....

Buying things for the nursery, like this this sweet little book shelf...

Making lots of these nifty towel wraps, perfect for my dorm-dwelling sister...

Baking dozens and dozens of these to share...

Forced to hold up my end of the deal and watch Star Wars Episodes 4-6. I'm 2/3 done...

Sister's Graduation Quilt

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my sister? Almost every post, you say? Oh yeah...That's right. Well, Sarah wanted me to make her a quilt for high school graduation. It will be what she uses as her bedding in college. The process began at Thanksgiving time and got all finished this past week. Ross' mom sewed the binding for me, just like her mom did for her. Sweet, huh? It is incredibly difficult to get a good picture of it, partially because it is really big and also because the colors don't show up as vibrantly as they really are. Either way, here are some pics.
