Sick.

This pretty much sums up our week.

Baby boy got, and then kindly shared, a nasty stomach bug. C ended up in the ER and we have all been laid up ever sense. It's one of those times when you think, "I want my mom!" and then remember that you are the mom now...so you hold in your nausea, see what baby needs and ask the hubs for extra help.

Wub You

Oh goodness. Carson just melted our hearts when he said "wub you dada" for the first time ever! I'm pretty sure that we were both holding back tears. Now to get him to say it to me!

Simply sweet

We had a book growing up called Mr. Winkle's Garden Little Wrinkle's Surprise. It was about a giant sunflower that grew beneath the bird feeder because of a dropped seed. It was an all time family favorite book, the kind my mom saved for grandkids. Well, this is what I saw through the kitchen window this morning and it made me so happy! I smiled every time I saw it. I think I'll keep watering it to see if I can make it as big as the one in the book.

Facts.

If I wash my car, it will rain. Even in the midst of a drought.
If we plan to go out of town, Carson will get sick. Even if we he has been in a germ-free bubble for a week.

These are facts that I can prove with extensive research.

The Hulk.

I went to the store a few days ago ALONE. Halleluiah!

I got back and Ross informed me that there had been a minor issue.

Ross had stepped out back to check on the meat that was cooking and Carson had locked him out! Carson has never even messed with a door lock, so this was quite the (funny-ish) surprise!

Ross' phone was locked inside, along with the rouge toddler, so Ross kicked in the back door! HOLY TOLEDO! I imagine him turning into The Hulk, exploding muscles busting his shirt off and him using his super-human strength to plow down the door. Kinda sexy, huh? He went into total protector-must-get-to-my-baby-mode and I love that he went to the extreme to get to C. Plus, can you think of a more manly way to do it? Not me!

Also, when Ross told his mom what had happened she said, "You were about Carson's age when you locked me out of the house, too!" Hahaha! Oh no! Like father, like son :)

Planes, trains and automobiles

What's your first thought when you wake up in the morning?

Mine goes something like this...
"What time is it? Bathroom. Caffeine!"

Apparently Carson's goes something like this...
"Airplane! Choo-choo! Tractor! Truck!"

Nine mornings out of ten, I open his bedroom door and he immediately says, "choo-choo?" or "tractor?" or "truck?" or "mine-a?" (which means airplane).

Sweet boy. He must go to sleep thinking about them, dream about them and wake up ready to play! I think it's true what they say about boys and automobiles; the obsession starts early.

When daddies help

Ross put Carson to bed last night when we got back from a long trip home from south Texas. This is what I found when I got him out of bed this morning. Haha! That's an unsnapped romper (that he wore all day) over sweatpants. I love it! Sometimes I think that I get too concerned with the small things, like matching pjs. Carson was happy as can be and slept until 10:45, so clearly Ross knew what he was doing! I love the daddy-isms of parenting. That's why it takes two :)

Oh...and this is Carson's new "say cheese" face!
